My Lord,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of Your Lordship's Despatch No. 341 of the 3rd. of July with reference to the proposed exchange of land with lír. J. M. de Castro Basto, and to inform you that a modification has now been made, as shem in the plan enclosed herewith, so that the area of Crom Lend which it is proposed should be given in exchange, exactly equals the area to be surrend-

-ered by Mr. Basto,

The red area is rough hillside about 30 feet in height at the highest point. The green area is also sloping hill, about the same height, under dry cultivation for the most part at present, but very suitable for building

The applicant has agreed to the proposed modification, which I submit for Your Lordship's approval.
